[PETITION] Our Red Lines on Cyprus

Hellenic American Leadership Council

Every July 20 we rededicate ourselves to the cause of reunifying Cyprus and ending Turkey's occupation.  This year, marking Turkey's invasion is particularly frustrating because of how close Cyprus came to a break through in Crans-Montana.
The UN Secretary General and international community made it clear that is goal was a reunified Cyprus that was a "normal" country, and normal means no foreign rights of intervention or presence of foreign troops.
We are not surprised at the duplicity and intransigence by Turkey, but remain committed to reunification negotiations.  But it is clear that the mistakes of ambiguity on security and guarantees and letting Turkey off the hook from making tangible contributions can no longer be repeated.  Please join us in letting the UN Secretary General and Security Council know that any plan that doesn't provide for the full withdrawal of Turkish rights of intervention and troops will meet our immediate and steadfast opposition.

All it takes is two minutes to take this important stand. A bad solution harms Cyprus, Greece, and American interests and allies in the region. We have the letter drafted, just sign your name now:
