Turkey invades Syria and attacks Kurds with the approval of USA

Turkish forces intervened in Northern Syria, officially “against terrorists” (it is a custom now for nearly everybody operating in Syria, to do it under pretext of combating terrorism).
But for most observers, the real aim of the operation is to stop the advance of Kurdish forces to the west of the river Euphrates.
The Turkish intervention was supported officially by the spokesman for President Obama and Vice-President Biden, the latter calling the Kurds to retreat to the East of Euphrates.

It is not officially confirmed, but most observers agree the Turkish operation has had also the green light from Moscow.
After Erdogan’s openings to Moscow, Russia is very much interested in the new rapprochement with Turkey, while Washington seems decided to make more concessions to Erdogan, in order to keep Ankara firmly in the US-NATO orbit.
