Αυτό το βιβλίο περιέχει 15 κεφάλαια από διαλέξεις που παραδόθηκαν μέσω διαλέξεων ZOOM οι οποίες διοργανώθηκαν από την International Hellenic Association το 2021, 200 χρόνια μετά την ελληνική επανάσταση για την εθνική ελευθερία. Σε αυτή την επετειακή επιλογή δοκιμίων, έχει συμπεριληφθεί η συμμετοχή στην εξέγερση των Ελλήνων κατά της οθωμανικής καταπίεσης από διάφορα μέρη του ευρύτερου ελληνικού κόσμου εκείνη την εποχή.
Δεν περιλαμβάνονται πολεμιστές από την Πελοπόννησο, τη Μέση Ελλάδα και τα νησιά, γιατί είναι γνωστοί και η βιβλιογραφία είναι γεμάτη από αυτούς. Ωστόσο, έχουμε συμπεριλάβει ένα κείμενο για το Μεσολόγγι λόγω της μεγάλης σημασίας του στη μεταστροφή της ευρωπαϊκής κοινής γνώμης.
Ο αναγνώστης θα βρει πληροφορίες που συνήθως δεν περιλαμβάνονται -στο βαθμό που θα έπρεπε- στα γνωστά γραπτά για το 1821.
Τα μέλη της IHA ελπίζουμε ότι θα διαβάσουν αυτό το βιβλίο που εκδόθηκε από το AMAZON για να δουν πόσες θυσίες απαιτούνταν για να κερδίσει ο ελληνικός λαός την ελευθερία του από τον οθωμανικό ζυγό.

The newly published book titled
THE GREEKS IN THE NATIONAL UPRISING OF 1821
contains 15 chapters taken from lectures delivered to attendees through ZOOM organized by the International Hellenic Association in 2021, 200 years after the Greek revolution began so that Greeks could regain their national freedom. To commemorate this 200 year anniversary a selection of essays and lectures describing the participation in the Greek revolts against the Ottoman oppression by various regions of the wider Greek world at that time was included.
Descriptions of revolutionary events from the Peloponnese, Central Greece, and the islands are omitted because they are well known as the body of historical literature has described the events quite fully. However, included is a chapter regarding Messolonghi’s participation because of its great importance in converting European public opinion in favor of Greece.
The reader will find information that is not usually included – to the extent it should be – in the known writings about 1821.
IHA members and all interested in the enduring spirit for freedom among the Greek people will hopefully read this book now available on AMAZON to realize the extent of the sacrifice that was required for the Greek people to gain their freedom from the Ottoman yoke.
